‘First looks’ are special moments where couples see each other for the first time on their big day without the hundreds of onlookers. They get to express their emotions to each other, laugh, cry, or hug during this special time.
Couples have photographers take pictures of this special moment so that it’s captured forever!
Here are some unique first look ideas you could use:
Holding hands
Holding hands will never lose meaning for couples. It symbolizes how close the two of you are and the support you have for one another. A hand holding first look image signifies the two of you holding each other’s hand for life.
For the perfect picture, get the couple to stand on either side of a beam holding hands and not being able to see each other. Not only does this make a fantastic photo, but it makes a stunning first look moment too.
Shoulder tap
Instagram is full of these shoulder tap first look moments. Get the groom to stand in front of the camera waiting, while the bride sneaks up on him from the back. The groom then turns around to admire his gorgeous bride. Get your photographer to put together these images like a collage to get the full effect.
Back to back
This is another traditional pose for a first look. The bride and groom have to close their eyes and enter a room with their backs to one another. They then turn around together to see each other for the first time. Choose a particular part of the venue that’s secluded enough for the couple to have this moment.
Father of the bride
Other than a first look with the groom, first looks with the father of the bride are becoming more common too. Take some extra time out of your big day to stage the perfect photo op with him and other close family members. Some families choose to pray on the bride before the wedding, make sure that this moment is also photographed to be remembered forever!
At the elevator
This one’s going to be unlike any other first look you’ve ever seen before! Get the bride and groom to come down the elevator at the same time. Take pictures of them before and after they have seen each other at the venue. Not only is this a unique first look, but also super fun!
