Handshake or hug? Camera flash on or off? Best time to snap a picture with the couple?
It’s time we declared some legitimate digital rules, won’t you say?! LOL
A Digital Guide for Wedding Etiquette Your Guests Need
No one wants to offend the bride or anyone else but many just can’t help whipping out that phone for a selfie while the wedding photographer tries to take a gorgeous photo of the bride and groom. I’ve seen it done over and over, which of course is understandable! I too have been guilty of it believe it or not!
However, you can do a few things to make sure things go according to plans…
- Have officiant advise to put away phone and ipads during the ceremony.
- During formal photos with photographer, no photos with guest are allowed. You have to remember during formal photo time we are on a very strict time limit so any unnecessary interruption can really throw us off course.
- Stop the flash. There will be guests distracting you with camera flashes but of course they don’t mean to, it’s only natural for them to forget it’s on…LOL.
With these basic tips, it should be easy for you to keep electronic disruption to a minimum or at least hope too!
However, if you don’t mind people swinging out their phones during the event for snap, status updates or quick photo, then these following tips are just for you my dear:
- Mark your ceremony location on Google maps so your guests have no issue getting to the destination.
- Set up a live stream for guests who couldn’t make it.
- Make a special hashtag for your wedding so guests can upload pictures, tweets and posts.
- You’re the VIP, so naturally you guys have every right to take as many your beautiful souls desire! After all, it IS your celebration! 🙂
With these tips and one of the best Dallas wedding photographers (yours truly..lol), you’ll have no problem in getting the most memorable photographs of your very special day! 🙂
